Summary
Wei-En Lin is a 20-year-old Taiwanese left-handed pitcher who signed with the Oakland Athletics in June 2024 for $1.35 million. He has rapidly progressed through the minor league system and is currently pitching for Double-A Midland. Lin was recently named to Baseball America's Top 100 Prospects list at No. 93, becoming the first Taiwanese player in 18 years to make the ranking. Through his first seven starts in 2026, he posted a 1.61 ERA with a 31.6% strikeout rate and 6.6% walk rate over 28 innings. He was named Texas League Pitcher of the Week after throwing seven scoreless innings. However, he was recently placed on the IL with a quad strain. His fastball sits in the low-to-mid-90s (95-96 mph), and he features four plus pitches: fastball (55), curveball (55), slider (50), and changeup (55), with advanced control rated at 60. MLB Pipeline ranks him as the Athletics' No. 4 prospect.
