Francisco Alvarez, New York Mets catcher, was placed on the 60-day injured list after suffering a torn meniscus in his right knee during Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers. Imaging confirmed the injury, and he is expected to miss 6-8 weeks recovering. Surgery is planned to assess severity. This is Alvarez's fourth significant injury absence since joining the Mets in 2022.
