Summary
Brendan Donovan, the Mariners' key offseason acquisition and All-Star third baseman, has been activated from the 10-day injured list after recovering from a left groin muscle strain sustained on April 18. He underwent sports hernia surgery in the offseason. Donovan completed a rehab assignment with Double-A Arkansas, going 1-for-3 with a double, RBI, and two walks. He was reinstated to the active roster and returned to the lineup at third base and leadoff spot against the White Sox. When healthy this season, Donovan has been one of the Mariners' best hitters with a .304 average, .437 OBP, .518 SLG, and .954 OPS in 18 games with 3 HRs and 9 walks.
