R.J. Schreck, Toronto Blue Jays' #9 prospect, was named International League Player of the Week (May 4-10, 2026) after an exceptional performance with the Buffalo Bisons. Over six games against Lehigh Valley, Schreck went 15-for-25 (.600 average) with 2 home runs, 6 doubles, and 16 RBIs, including back-to-back 5-RBI games on May 6-7. The 25-year-old has shown significant improvement in May, batting .390 with a .490 OBP after a slow April start (.184 average through April). For the season, he's batting .233 with 5 home runs and 27 RBIs (team-leading) while maintaining a strong .371 OBP and disciplined 25:27 K:BB ratio. Acquired from Seattle in the July 2024 Justin Turner trade, Schreck is demonstrating the upside that could accelerate his path to MLB consideration.
