Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Logan Webb, the Giants' Opening Day starter and two-time All-Star, was placed on the 15-day injured list on May 9, 2026, due to right knee bursitis. This marks his first IL stint in nearly five years (since July 2021). Webb had been dealing with knee discomfort for an extended period but initially tried to pitch through it. He was removed after just 4 innings in his last start against the Padres on May 5, allowing 6 earned runs on 7 hits. Webb has struggled significantly in 2026 with a 2-4 record, 5.06 ERA, and 1.396 WHIP across 8 starts. The knee issue may have contributed to his poor performance early in the season, affecting his delivery and ability to locate pitches. Webb is eligible to return on May 21 and is expected to need the minimum time on the IL. The team hopes the break will allow him to recover and prepare for the final four-plus months of the season.
