Logan Webb, the San Francisco Giants' ace and two-time All-Star, has been placed on the 15-day injured list with right knee bursitis (retroactive to May 6, 2026). This marks his first IL stint since 2021 after 156 consecutive starts without missing a turn. Webb left his last start against the Padres after just 4 innings, allowing 6 earned runs on 7 hits. The 29-year-old is struggling significantly in 2026 with a 2-4 record, 5.06 ERA, 1.396 WHIP, and below-average 20.2% strikeout rate across 8 starts. While the Giants are optimistic he'll return when eligible, there is speculation that his best days may be behind him, with concerns about the cumulative toll of three straight 200-inning seasons and early World Baseball Classic participation.
