Brendan Donovan was reinstated from the 10-day injured list on May 9 after recovering from a left groin strain related to offseason sports hernia surgery. The All-Star infielder had been sidelined since April 18. He completed a one-game rehab assignment with Double-A Arkansas on Tuesday, going 1-for-3 with a double and two walks. Donovan was inserted back into the Mariners' lineup at third base and leadoff spot for Friday's series opener against the White Sox in Chicago.
