Robby Snelling, the Miami Marlins' No. 2 pitching prospect (ranked No. 29-33 overall), was placed on the 15-day injured list on May 14, 2026, just six days after making his MLB debut. The 22-year-old left-hander reported discomfort in his left elbow following a bullpen session on May 13. In his debut on May 8 against Washington, Snelling allowed 3 runs over 5 innings with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. Prior to his call-up, he dominated Triple-A Jacksonville with a 3-1 record, 1.86 ERA, 44 strikeouts, and only 11 hits allowed in 29 innings across 6 starts. The severity of the UCL sprain has not been determined, but UCL injuries often precede Tommy John surgery, which could sideline him for the remainder of 2026 and potentially most of 2027.
