Updated May 19, 2026
Jordan Westburg, 27-year-old Baltimore Orioles infielder and 2024 All-Star, underwent Tommy John surgery on his right elbow on May 15, 2026, and will miss the entire 2026 season. Westburg suffered a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) during spring training and initially attempted conservative treatment with a platelet-rich plasma injection in February. He began a throwing progression in April but was shut down again earlier in May due to persistent discomfort. GM Mike Elias indicated that a return as a full player in early 2027 is possible. Westburg has a history of injuries, having been limited to 85 games in 2025 due to hamstring, finger, and ankle injuries.
