Updated May 19, 2026
Cubs right-hander Hunter Harvey has suffered a setback in his recovery from triceps inflammation, with an MRI revealing a stress reaction in his triceps area. Harvey has been out since April 9 and will miss at least another month (4+ weeks). This is a recurring issue for a pitcher with a long history of injuries throughout his career. Harvey has had 12+ IL stints prior to joining the Cubs and has struggled to stay healthy since his 2019 debut, logging only 189 innings over 186 games. He signed a one-year, $6.5MM deal with the Cubs but posted a 6.75 ERA over four innings before the triceps issue arose.
