Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Carlos Santana, 40-year-old Diamondbacks first baseman, suffered a setback in his rehab from a right groin/adductor strain on May 12, 2026. Originally injured on April 5 against the Braves, Santana re-injured the adductor while playing for Triple-A Reno during his seventh rehab game. He had been struggling offensively before the injury (2-for-24, .083 BA) and continued to struggle in rehab (3-for-25). Manager Torey Lovullo expressed disappointment, noting Santana had been working hard and his swing was coming around after hitting a home run. This setback extends his absence and delays his return to the Diamondbacks roster.
