Roman Anthony, Red Sox outfielder, suffered a right wrist sprain on May 4, 2026 during a check swing against Detroit. Initially hoped to avoid IL placement, but the wrist "isn't getting much better" as of May 8. Placed on 10-day IL with right wrist sprain. Anthony was a strong performer in 2025 (.292/.396/.463, 3rd in AL ROY voting) but has struggled early in 2026 (.229/.354/.321 in 30 games). Also dealt with back soreness earlier in the season.
