Scouting Report
Updated May 20, 2026
Chase Dollander, 24-year-old right-handed pitcher for the Colorado Rockies, was placed on the 15-day injured list on May 15, 2026, with a right elbow sprain after being removed from Thursday's game against Pittsburgh in the second inning due to arm tightness. MRI results revealed only a minor UCL sprain with inflammation, avoiding the worst-case scenario of a torn UCL that would require Tommy John surgery. Dollander expressed relief and optimism about the diagnosis. Prior to the injury, he had posted a 3.89 ERA with 47 strikeouts in 10 starts (3-3 record). He recently showed control issues with 5 walks in a May 9 outing but has been working at least 5 innings in consecutive appearances with a 2.76 ERA over that stretch.
Strengths
- + Dodged major injury - minor UCL sprain vs. torn UCL

- + Recent stretch shows 2.76 ERA over 29.1 innings with 33 strikeouts
- + Optimistic outlook from player - best-case scenario for elbow injury
- + Expected to miss approximately one month, not season-ending
- + Key piece of Rockies' future pitching plans
Injury Status: IL-15
