Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Cincinnati Reds RHP Rhett Lowder placed on 15-day injured list (May 13, 2026) with right shoulder discomfort. Lowder exited his start on May 7 against the Cubs in the 4th inning after walking back-to-back batters and experiencing clicking in his right shoulder. MRI revealed no structural damage, but he received a cortisone injection in the AC joint. This is a precautionary move by manager Terry Francona to prevent long-term issues. Lowder will continue throwing off the mound during his IL stint. The 24-year-old has struggled early in 2026 with a 5.09 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 26:14 K:BB ratio over 35.1 innings in 7 starts. He missed all of 2025 due to forearm and oblique injuries.
