Francisco Alvarez, 24-year-old Mets catcher, was placed on the 10-day injured list on May 13, 2026, after suffering a torn right meniscus in his right knee during the sixth inning of Tuesday's game against the Detroit Tigers. He fouled off a pitch and his leg twisted, causing the injury. Alvarez requires surgery and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks (late June/early July return). This is his fourth trip to the injured list since the start of 2024. He was batting .241 with 4 home runs and 10 RBIs in 37 games (128 plate appearances) with a 105 wRC+.
