Emmanuel Rodriguez, a Twins Triple-A prospect, was placed on the 7-day IL with a left thumb sprain suffered on May 1st after sliding headfirst into first base. Prior to the injury, Rodriguez was having an exceptional 2026 season with the St. Paul Saints, slashing .247/.417/.506 (.923 OPS) with 6 home runs and 18 RBIs in 25 games. He also recorded the two hardest-hit balls in the Twins organization this season. This is the seventh injury of his professional career, which has been a recurring obstacle in his development.
