Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Hayden Wesneski (note: sources refer to both "Ben Wereski" and "Hayden Wesneski" - assuming these refer to the same player) is continuing his recovery from Tommy John surgery performed on May 23, 2025. As of May 5-6, 2026, he is progressing through bullpen sessions at the Astros' spring training facility in Florida. He has been throwing off a mound for over a month and is expected to soon face hitters in live batting practice. However, he will require a lengthy minor-league rehab assignment before activation and is not expected to make his 2026 debut until after the All-Star break.
