Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Noah Schultz, 22-year-old left-handed pitcher for the Chicago White Sox, has struggled significantly in his early MLB career. Through six starts spanning 29.1 innings, Schultz has posted a 2-2 record with a 4.91 ERA and 1.36 WHIP. Most concerning is his severe command issues, walking 21 batters (15.1% walk rate) against 26 strikeouts. He has allowed three or more earned runs in three of six outings. In his most recent start against Kansas City on May 14, he allowed three runs on two hits while walking five over 4.1 innings. Prior to a rough outing against the Angels (7 ER in 3.2 IP), he had shown some promise with just three earned runs over 17 innings. Despite being considered a top young arm in the White Sox system with a 40.4% strikeout rate at Triple-A, his transition to MLB has been marked by inconsistency and control problems that are limiting his effectiveness.
