Scouting Report
Updated May 19, 2026
Mason Englert (RHP) was activated from the 15-day IL after recovering from forearm tightness. The Rays are building him up as a rotation candidate to replace injured Ryan Pepiot. Englert completed a successful rehab assignment with Triple-A Durham where he was stretched out to starter workload. He is expected to pitch in bulk relief initially before transitioning to a starting role. The Rays' rotation has been excellent (3.16 ERA, 3rd in MLB), and Englert represents important depth as the team continues its strong start (22-12 record).
