Scouting Report

Updated May 19, 2026

Jim Jarvis, 25-year-old infielder from University of Alabama, was called up by the Atlanta Braves from Triple-A Gwinnett for his MLB debut. Originally drafted 11th round by Detroit in 2023, he was traded to Atlanta in July 2025 for Rafael Montero. Jarvis has posted excellent numbers in Triple-A this season (.305/.418/.445 with 4 HRs, 6 doubles, 15 steals in 17 attempts over 33 games). He made his debut playing shortstop in the series finale vs. Seattle but was optioned back to Triple-A after going 1-for-5 with 2 strikeouts in his first two MLB games. Known for strong plate discipline (15% walk rate, 17.6% K rate in minors) and speed, but limited power potential with middling exit velocities.
